Dave Seiler brings to First Business nearly 25 years of financial services experience with leading commercial banking firms in the Midwest. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of the Correspondent Banking Division of BMO Harris Bank. Dave has an impressive track record of successful leadership in credit administration, relationship management, treasury management, commercial real estate lending, and correspondent banking. He has specific experience in the Wisconsin, Minnesota, St. Louis, and the Kansas City markets. Seiler received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Administration and a master’s degree in Real Estate Appraisal and Investment Analysis from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Austin Thompson has 10 years of commercial banking experience in the Kansas City market. He is responsible for the origination of new commercial loans such as working capital lines of credits, equipment term loans, and owner occupied real estate loans in addition to managing the bank’s existing relationships. Austin works with his customers to ensure their financial needs and goals are met. He volunteers as a Big Brother with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City organization and enjoys running, playing golf, and watching sports in his free time. Austin received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking from the University of Missouri and a master’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Rockhurst University.

Beth DeCuir, Senior Relationship Manager, works on mainly on developer and investor real estate transactions, including construction projects. For the past 11 years, Beth has worked in both commercial real estate lending and conventional C&I lending at U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo prior to joining the Alterra Bank team. Earlier bank experience includes LOB Controller of Private Banking (NationsBank) and LOB Controller of Commercial Lending (Hibernia National Bank) as well as experience in loan review and working on bank acquisitions. Beth is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where she earned her B.S. in Accounting and worked as a CPA for Deloitte for five years out of college. Beth is a member of CREW KC, a commercial real estate women’s organization where she serves as co-chair of the Sponsorship Committee and as a member of other committees for this organization. Beth is currently working on the CCIM Designation.

Paul has 25-plus years of lending experience in commercial real estate including National Banks, Community Banks and non-banking positions. He has handled a variety of assignments including bank work-out, servicing and lending responsibilities as large as a $120mm single loan origination/ syndication, in addition to real estate sales, leasing, construction, development and management. Alicia Walker, SBA Relationship Manager, is uniquely positioned to help local entrepreneurs break down barriers. Alicia brings extensive experience to the table: she’s a respected past-member of the U.S. military, has experience as a minority business owner herself, and is now a leading business banker in Kansas City. Alicia states, “I really enjoy working with fellow hard-working, determined, and innovative individuals in Kansas City. I understand the hurdles they are up against, and I love discovering the solutions they need to succeed." Alicia is a proud military mom with a son in the Air Force, and enjoys salsa dancing. Alicia first came to Alterra in 2013 to apply for a business loan, which instead resulted in an employment offer! Alicia enjoys working as part of the Alterra team. She states that the more seasoned members of the team are selfless and always willing to give advice, an important part of being a successful unit. Finally, Alicia's greatest inspiration was her father, also an entrepreneur, who taught her to understand that failing does not make you a failure. Diane Jacobson, SBA Loan Operations Specialist, processes and packages SBA loans from the application stage to closing and servicing. She has fifteen years of commercial lending experience as loan coordinator, including SBA processing and packaging, small business banking, C&I, commercial real estate, and consumer loans. Diane enjoys biking, hiking and home remodeling, especially tiling.

Jason Moxness, Director of Loan Programs, loves that there is always something going on in Kansas City, minus the stresses of big city life. He describes the Alterra Bank Community as a "small, high performing sailing team" where each member works on a specific skill while everyone helps sail the boat. His hobbies include collecting classic and exotic cars, eating at Famous Daves, and cheering for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Vince specializes in SBA business solutions for every size company including lending, business accounts, merchant processing and business continuity planning. Scott Madsen, SBA Relationship Manager, is responsible for the external origination and closing of government guaranteed small business loans. He builds relationships with local and national referral sources which include but are not limited to Bankers, Business Brokers, Realtors, Franchises, CPA's and any other professional. Scott brings 25 years of financial services experience along with his passion for working with small businesses to provide the financing you need in order to grow your business. He consults with clients, so that they can make an educated decision on their financing options that best meets their unique objectives. Scott hopes to lead by example that success in life and in business is possible even when you do what's right. He has been dubbed as the 'encyclopedia of movie quotes' by his fellow co-workers.

Eric has over fifteen years of banking experience, focusing on assisting small businesses. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville and is currently attending the Graduate School of Management at Marquette University, expecting to graduate with his MBA in spring of 2016. Eric is also active in the community having volunteered for Make a Difference - Wisconsin as a classroom instructor since 2007. He has also volunteered for Junior Achievement, DECA, and SCORE. In the past has served as President of the Mukwonago Chamber of Commerce and as an Ambassador for the Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce and Wauwatosa Chamber of Commerce.

Chris Sorensen, Senior SBA Portfolio Manager, has been a banker in the Midwest for the last 17 years. He grew up in the Black Hills of South Dakota and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Nebraska in 1996. Chris and his family moved to Kansas City in the summer of 2014 and have never looked back. Chris thoroughly enjoys working in a city with such an entrepreneurial spirit, and with an outstanding group of bankers at Alterra Bank.

Mike has over 20 years of financial industry experience, specializing in private client banking and lending, wealth management, retail branch management, business development, and most recently, SBA portfolio management with joining Alterra Bank in 2016. Mike Graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee where he earned a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in Accounting and Real Estate. Mike also graduated from the College of Financial Planning where he earned an Accredited Wealth Management Advisor (AWMA) diploma. Mike also holds his FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities licenses, as well as an NMLS mortgage lending certification. Outside of work, Mike volunteers on the Board of Directors for the Village of Elm Grove’s Citizen Police Academy. Mike also enjoys golf, playing poker, recreational shooting, traveling the world with his wife Sheri, and spending time with their two dachshunds, Ruby and Cooper.

As an SBA Portfolio Manager, Travis works with lenders on loan requests for new applicants, services the requests of existing clients, and monitors the condition of clients in his portfolio. Prior to becoming a Portfolio Manager, Travis worked as an SBA Credit Analyst. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance. Outside of banking, Travis is an EMT with the Village of Elm Grove and enjoys running, weightlifting, playing volleyball, reading, and going to country music concerts.

Tricia Luedke, Senior Private Banker, is responsible for and acts as the bank's officer of business development, acquiring new deposit accounts, as well as being the relationship and account manager of existing deposit clients. She is also involved with the community through civic activity, service organizations, and professional associations. Tricia is a member of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce where she is a member of their Liaison Committee and Economic Development Committee. She loves to spend time with her twin daughters, read mystery novels, boating, scrap-booking, and working out. Tricia is a devoted fan of the KC Royals, KU basketball team, and loves the fall because that means it's NFL football season. She is still active with her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega at KU and sits on the Board as the President of House Corporation.

Brandy Strock, Private Banking Team Lead, acts as the sales, service, and operations leader in multiple branch settings within the bank. She works with the team to make sure they are consistently meeting the overall objectives of the bank. She leads and develops the team with a focus on delivering a unique client experience and exceeding operational and service expectations. When Brandy isn't at work, she is a busy mom of three running a mile a minute. On the weekends, she enjoys going to the lake to go camping, boating, and swimming.

Samantha Croux, Private Banker, assists customers with their banking needs and try to anticipate those needs. She process transactions, open and close accounts, and follow up with customers. Samantha dreams of one day being able to travel to Rome, Italy to experience the art culture as well as to visit the Roman Coliseum. She considers herself to be athletic and enjoys sipping on a glass of white wine as she paints.
Carmen Zuniga, Commercial Services Relationship Manager, enjoys developing and managing her business clients and their treasury products and services. She has a passion for connecting and helping people and an interest in the small businesses in Kansas City. Carmen has 20 years of banking experience behind her. Rob has been in the financial industry for 6 years. He started out his career with UMB as a teller and made his way through the ranks as a Private Banker with Alterra Bank. Rob enjoys the retail aspect of banking because he is able to help clients with their financial portfolios. His passion to help individuals gain financial stability motivates him to work harder every day. Rob moved from his hometown of Chicago, Illinois to obtain his undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Kansas. Rob is passionate about sports and loves to watch his three favorite teams: Kansas Jayhawks, Chicago Blackhawks and Cubs. Rob loves to work out and stay active in sports. Johnna is directly responsible for the leadership and success over the Treasury Management and Client Services Team. Johnna received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management from Columbia College. Janessa Sheehan, Director of Loan Operations, describes the Alterra Bank community as a "fun, dedicated, and hard-working family." Her father is her greatest inspiration. Janessa loves the accessibility of Kansas City, Jack Stack barbecue, and Sporting KC. Angela Jennings, Director of Deposit Operations, is the mother of two children, ages 12 and 15. She says, "Their hobbies are my hobbies. The majority of my time is spent at sporting activities, school functions, or family get-togethers." She describes Alterra employees as dedicated and loyal. Angela is a K-State fan, and prefers Jack Stack over any other barbecue. Her parents are her greatest inspiration due to their selflessness and continuous kindness to everyone around them. Angela's favorite thing about Kansas City is being able to enjoy the countryside while being close to a city with so much to offer.

Cindy Coleman AAP, Deposit Operations Supervisor, oversees and monitors all tasks performed in the Deposit Operations area, including wires, ACH, account analysis, reconciliations, NSF items, stop payment, online banking, new account monitoring and maintenance. She is also involved in maintaining Silverlake and other Jack Henry systems. Cindy and her sister run a business specializing in antiques and vintage items. They do shows around the area as well as selling online. She also loves reading and old movies.

She enjoys interacting with customers and providing world class customer service to them. Denise loves being able to get lost in a good book and is delighted whenever she gets to buy a brand new pair of shoes.

Julie Green, Relationship Coordinator, works with Relationship Managers in gather information for documentation and help with loan closings. She has twenty five years of banking experience.
Justina Rydberg, Relationship Coordinator Team Lead, provides assistance and support to SBA, commercial, and retail lending staff. She works collaboratively with loan operations to ensure loans are documented, closed, reviewed, and serviced in a timely and accurate manner. Justina taught herself the art of woodworking and also enjoys gardening in her free time.Her ideal vacation would be to travel to the art museums around Europe with her family.
Gretchen joined the Alterra team in fall 2015 and assists both loan operations and deposit operations in the scanning, imaging, and organization of documents. She has an educational background in political and library sciences and likes to think of herself as the bank’s librarian. In her spare time, Gretchen enjoys reading, taking her Australian Shepherd to the dog park, binge-watching TV shows, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks, her undergraduate alma mater.
Crystal has been in banking for 19 years total. Her journey in banking began as a teller and eventually advanced up to a teller supervisor. A total of seven and half years were spent on the retail side of banking until Crystal decided to leave banking for a change and experiment with a few different avenues in business. Eventually, Crystal came back to banking but on the Deposit Operations side. Crystal has continued to grow in her position and knowledge with each year that passes. Coming to Alterra Bank has allowed her to definitely grow that knowledge further as well as fine a place that feels like home away from home.

Graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Admin major in Accounting. Anna just recently joined the Alterra team in 2016 as Deposit Operations Specialist III in charge of Quality Control on daily Maintenance, Wire and ACH Processing and a backup on the daily reconciliations of General Ledger and Suspense Accounts. She earned her AAP (Accredited ACH Professional) accreditation on 2007. Anna loves singing and watching popular TV series.

Kelly Barnardon, Loan Operations Specialist, reviews and processes loan documents and payments to insure all banking regulations and guidelines are met. She has over 20 years of experience in the Account/Auditing field. In her free time Kelly plays sand volleyball with her team of 12 years. She also enjoys playing softball, reading, and camping and hiking with her family.

I have been in the banking industry since 1989, working at a small Credit Union in Hawaii. I stayed with Credit Unions working at Andrews Federal Credit Union in New Jersey and then to CommunityAmerica Credit Union until 2001. I made my move to banks (a four letter word for credit union folks) in Nov of 2001 starting at First National Bank of Kansas (now of Omaha). I stayed there as the Lockbox Manager until last year when I started at Alterra. I have experience in everything from ATM, Teller, Accounting, Audit, Loans, Supervisor, Asst Manager of a branch, to Help Desk Supervisor in IT at CommunityAmerica and Systems Trainer (which I loved).

Sherre Abney is a Deposit Operations Specialist with over 10 years of banking experience. Sherre is in charge of wire processing, account maintenance and whatever else she can help out with. Dan Elmer, Credit Risk Manager, manages a team of credit personnel who work with lending and credit staff to ensure credit risks are timely and appropriately monitored and evaluated. He has experience in a variety of lending disciplines, including asset based lending, leveraged lending, middle market lending and real estate lending. In his free time, Dan enjoys woodworking, traveling with his wife, reading and mentoring students.
Brennan Halbersma, Credit Analyst, conducts in-depth underwriting for a wide variety of lending transactions, in both C&I and commercial real estate. Brennan has experience in loan surveillance for commercial mortgage-backed securities, as well as investment analysis for institutional entities. In 2016, he completed a Master’s of Science degree in Finance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and, in 2013, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Missouri State University. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kansas. Brennan enjoys spending time with his family, golf, and following stock markets and business news.
Matt Misch, Senior Credit Analyst, underwrites a variety of C&I and CRE deals that come through the bank. Prior to joining Alterra, Matt worked in credit at Bank of America and financial reporting at Northern Trust. He earned his BSBA in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia and is currently pursuing his MBA at the University of Kansas. Outside of work, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, listening to the radio, and coaching youth hockey.

He spent the summer of 2016 as an intern with Alterra and then returned to be a full time Credit Analyst with FBFS after completing his degree at MU. He enjoys practicing illustration and drawing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. His free time is also spent outdoors backpacking and traveling whenever he gets the chance.

Brian Bulger, Private Mortgage Banker, assists families in the purchase and refinance of their homes. He works to help them to come up with the best financial solution to make this happen. He also works with financial partners to help them grow their business. Brian enjoys reading, golfing, relaxing with friends, and crosswords puzzles.

Trupti brings with her experience in both banking world and Mortgage. Trupti’s experience with Alterra, allows her to guide customers to the result they are looking for in a smooth and professional manner. Trupti joined Mortgage Team in 2016 as a Mortgage Loan Assistant. She is responsible to assist with mortgage loan closing process by reviewing loan documents for compliance, completeness and accuracy. Carries out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the Bank’s initiatives. Trupti holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Statistics from India. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family. She loves to cook different dishes, traveling and socializing. She has explored Paris, Italy, Switzerland, Uganda and dreams to travel throughout the world.
Mortgage Administrative Assistant
Susan Jaedicke, Business Analyst, is responsible for providing data analysis and reports to various departments. She is the primary operational support for the implementation and maintenance of customer relationship management systems. Susan is responsible for various special projects and supporting technology initiatives for the bank.
Senior IT Service/Support Specialist
Gita Smith, Corporate Administration Manager, provides high-level executive support for the office of the President, CEO, and Board of Directors. She works with the Human Resources department to provide local leadership and support for the human capital environment at Alterra Bank. She is also responsible for building and managing a high performing Administrative Team to support the administrative needs for all departments. She is a Finance Chair for the Banker's Institute Leadership Committee. Gita is a proud mother and grandmother who enjoys spending time with her family and reading. Her personal philosophy is "Each and every breath you take is a blessing. Treat it as such."
Director Corporate Administration
Elise's entire career has been in roles providing administrative support. She enjoys helping others. As an Administrative Assistant she makes a positive first impression on clients and guests who visit or call the Bank and provide administrative support for all departments. Elise handles scheduling and coordination of meetings, various correspondence, travel arrangements, ordering supplies, distributing mail, and filing—just to name a few of my responsibilities. Elise works actively to promote and support the “best place to work” environment maintained at Alterra. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, dining out, reading and bicycling.
Rachael has an extensive career in Property and Retail Management. She enjoys providing a positive and uplifting atmosphere for her coworkers and clients. Day to day responsibilities are always changing, as she works to best support those around her. Outside of work, Rachael sings at church, spends too much time in her craft room, snuggles with the fur babies and enjoys new experiences. Her life’s true resolution is “Love others, and be kind.”
Jillyn has been in the financial industry for 10 years, with 9 years of personal banking experience. She has done consumer loans, HELOC's and credit cards, along with account opening and teller experience. Jillyn has worked in customer service her entire career because she enjoys helping people solve problems and assist with their needs. Jillyn Graduation from Johnson County Community College with an Associates in Interior Design. Jillyn has gone through 'Sandler Training' when she worked for another financial institution. She loves being with her 2 children, Rhine and Lorelei. They are what life is all about! Jillyn loves being a Momma to those two kids, and enjoys renovating houses and staging homes. Jillyn has worked for Real Estate Agents, stating houses as an extracurricular job. She loves to hike, kayak, and be outdoors as she is a previous Oregonian.
